Details: Set to open on September 12, 2009 TCF Bank Stadium, the new home of the Golden Gophers, will rival any other collegiate stadium. Seating capacity of TCF Bank Stadium is approximately 50,000. There are 39 suites, 59 boxes, and 300 indoor club seats. The stadium's field is oriented in an east-west configuration, the only football stadium in the Big Ten to be laid out this way. Fans will understand this orientation come game day, with the sweeping views of both campus as well as the glimmering Minneapolis skyline through the structure’s magnificently open west end.
The University of Minnesota is seeking to become the 1st LEED Certified Collegiate Football Facility. The final decision for LEED Certification will be made shortly after the opening of TCF Bank Stadium.
Construction on the stadium began in July of 2007 with finishing touches being completed at this time. Cemstone partnered with Mortenson and Gresser to supply the over 37,000 cubic yards of concrete needs to TCF Bank stadium. Ready-mix concrete is utilized throughout the stadium from the lightweight concrete on all levels to the concrete used in the foundations, pedestrian walks and gathering spaces and grand stairways.
Cemstone is proud to have been a part of this project and wish the Golden Gophers much success in their new home.
