RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Cemstone has the ready mix industry’s most comprehensive concrete materials research facility and certified testing lab in the upper Midwest. Cemstone’s lab is accredited by the Cement and Concrete Reference Library (CCRL) for concrete, aggregates and cement to ensure our products’ accuracy and quality.
On-going testing is used to determine aggregate composition, freeze-thaw durability, placability, alkali-carbonate reaction and more. All of this diligence ensures products and mixture proportioning that meets each customer’s specifications.
Led by Kevin MacDonald, Ph. D., P.E., FACI, Vice President of Engineering Services and a team of professional engineers, geologists and certified field technicians, Cemstone Research & Development is constantly looking to improve performance and to help its customers by testing new products and proprietary high performance concrete, such as T-25, Cemstone’s family of self-consolidating concrete. In addition, Cemstone conducts extensive forensic, petrographic and in-field examinations to verify the quality of our concrete and aggregates.
